Scope and contact

CheatSlips is operated by the CheatSlips site staff. This policy explains how personal data is handled when you browse the site, create an account, use account features, or interact with our community services.

For a privacy question or a request concerning your personal data, please use our Contact page. Do not post passwords, API tokens, reset links, or other account secrets in public channels.

Data we process

We collect only the information needed to operate CheatSlips and its account features. Depending on how you use the service, this may include:

  • account information such as your username, email address, selected firmware, password hash, account status, and sign-in activity;
  • security and service information, including hashed validation or password-reset tokens, API tokens, API quota usage, and session-related data;
  • community activity, such as cheats you upload, cheat requests, reports, ratings, download history, and cheat-cart entries;
  • an OAuth identifier when you choose to sign in with or link Discord, and information required to maintain another connected service you choose to link, such as Patreon.

Passwords and security tokens are not stored in their raw form. We do not intentionally ask for special categories of personal data, such as health, political, religious, or financial information.

Why we use this data

We use account data to create and secure accounts, authenticate users, provide downloads and API access, remember console preferences, operate community features, prevent abuse, enforce our rules, and respond to support or data-protection requests.

Where the GDPR applies, processing is carried out as necessary to provide the service you request, to protect the security and integrity of CheatSlips and its community, to meet applicable legal obligations, or—where required—for your consent, for example for non-essential advertising cookies.

Account inactivity and deletion

Unverified email rule. A local-only account whose initial email address has not been confirmed within 7 calendar days of its creation will be automatically deleted, together with its associated private account data. An account connected to a third-party sign-in provider is not subject to this particular rule, but remains subject to the inactivity rule below.
365-day inactivity rule. Any account with no recorded account activity for more than 365 consecutive days will be automatically purged.

Account activity means a successful sign-in or authenticated use of a CheatSlips service, such as use of the API. Browsing public pages alone does not keep an account active.

When an inactive account is purged, its private account data and private account records are deleted, including its account profile, email address, credentials, connected identities, tokens, settings, cart, download history, and service-usage records.

Public community contributions may remain available to preserve the usefulness and history of the service. Where they are retained, their direct link to the deleted account is removed and they are anonymized, for example for cheat uploads, video uploads, and cheat requests. Data may be retained only where necessary to comply with a legal obligation or to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Sharing and third-party services

We may rely on service providers to host and operate CheatSlips, deliver email, protect the service, measure usage, and display advertising. If you choose Discord sign-in or link Patreon, those services process data under their own privacy policies. We only use the information needed for the connected feature.

CheatSlips may also link to external websites. Their content and privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this one.

Cookies and advertising

Essential cookies and similar technologies are used to keep the site working, including account sessions and security protections. Advertising and analytics partners may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with your choices and applicable law.

All or part of the advertising on this website may be managed by Playwire LLC. For information about its processing and available choices, see the Playwire Privacy Policy.

Your choices and rights

You can update account information from your profile and can request deletion of your account through the dedicated account-deletion page. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and data portability.

You may contact us to exercise these rights or raise a concern. If you are in the EEA, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request in order to protect your account and other users.

Security and policy changes

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we process. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please keep your password, API token, reset links, and third-party accounts confidential.

We may update this policy when the service, legal requirements, or our data practices change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
