Terms of service and community rules

Using CheatSlips

These terms govern your use of CheatSlips, including the website, account features, cheat downloads, API access, and community contributions. By creating an account or using these features, you agree to follow these terms and our Privacy Policy.

CheatSlips is a community service for Nintendo Switch owners. It is independent from Nintendo and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Nintendo. All trademarks and service marks belong to their respective owners.

Accounts and security

• Keep your password, API token, reset links, and connected third-party accounts confidential.
• Do not share, sell, transfer, or use another person’s account without permission.
• Provide accurate account information and keep your email address available for account-security messages.
• Some features require a verified account. Local-only accounts whose initial email address is not confirmed within seven days, and all accounts inactive for more than 365 days, are subject to deletion under the retention rules described in the Privacy Policy.

Community rules

Help keep CheatSlips useful, lawful, and welcoming. In particular, do not:

• share or request pirated games, ROMs, encryption keys, leaked or unreleased content, download links, torrents, installers, or other material that facilitates copyright infringement;
• use, promote, or request cheats for online or competitive play, or encourage conduct that harms other players;
• post unlawful, abusive, threatening, sexually explicit, hateful, misleading, or spam content;
• advertise or promote unrelated services without prior permission from the site staff;
• impersonate another person, evade a moderation decision, or attempt to bypass account, API, quota, or security controls;
• share personal information, credentials, API tokens, or private communications without permission.

Please communicate in clear, respectful English where reasonably possible so that the community can understand and help. Use public support channels instead of repeatedly contacting moderators privately.

Contributions and intellectual property

You remain responsible for the content you submit, including cheat codes, descriptions, links, videos, requests, and reports. Do not submit content that you do not have the right to share.

You retain any rights you have in your contribution. By submitting it to CheatSlips, you grant CheatSlips a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, reproduce, display, distribute, format, and moderate that contribution as needed to operate, improve, preserve, and promote the service. This license continues for public contributions that remain available after account deletion in anonymized form.

Moderation and reports

Site staff may review, restrict, remove, or disable content; limit features; or suspend or block an account when reasonably necessary to enforce these terms, protect users, address security or abuse, or comply with applicable law.

If you believe content infringes your rights or violates these terms, use the relevant report option when available or contact us through the Contact page. We will review reports in good faith and may request information needed to assess them.

Service availability and external services

CheatSlips is provided as a community service. Cheats and community content are supplied by users and may be incomplete, inaccurate, unavailable, or unsuitable for a particular game version or console setup. You use them at your own risk and are responsible for complying with applicable law and the terms of your hardware, games, and online services.

The service may link to or integrate third-party services, including Discord, Patreon, advertising providers, video platforms, and external websites. Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. CheatSlips does not control their content, availability, or practices.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service, community rules, or legal requirements change. The revision date at the top of this page shows when they were last updated. Continued use after an update means that you should review and comply with the updated terms, without limiting any mandatory rights you may have under applicable law.
