Prologue
Al-Sarat is an oil-rich nation where a decades-long proxy war between global powers has finally hit its breaking point. What looked like the end of a civil war was nothing more than a brief silence before the storm. An unidentified militia, backed by a regional military power and bankrolled by a massive criminal cartel, has quietly leveled up into a professional fighting force armed with state-level electronic warfare systems and surface-to-air missile batteries.

Western intelligence sent in a Black Hawk formation to neutralize the leadership of Jamala, but the operation was burned before it even kicked off. The insurgents had been tracking the mission in real time, stacking anti-air ambush teams at every approach into the city. As the formation pushed into the canyon corridor, a MANPADS missile punched through the Black Hawk's countermeasures and nailed the tail rotor. The helicopter went down in a fireball over the city square.

This was no accident. It was the final piece of a carefully laid trap, pulling Western forces deep into the city to be used as pawns in a global information war.
